Love Is All, "Felt Tip"

On mad mad mad repeat.

Went to see Tin Cup Serenade at Le Colonial last night. With old man drinks for me (a Manhattan, and a martini — Plymouth gin, very dry, two olives) which Nick, who had not so mannish drinks thought was very hot. What doesn’t come across in the photo are the competing swing dance styles — rockabilly throwback kids doing a lindy sort of thing against a couple done up in a sleeker art deco look with legs that were positively elastic. My old apartment is just upstairs and one building to the left of the dancefloor, and I could hear the live jazz on Wednesdays and Thursdays through my window for a full year. When I leave San Francisco, this room and the terrace and grand stairway that lead to it will start to take on the memory of an entire life in one city.
