The Stone Roses, “I Wanna Be Adored” (1989)

There was a summer when we all were ripping off Columbia BMG or whatever that business (I mean how did they make money?) where you taped a penny to a card to get some compact discs. And I got this, probably because of a 3 second snatch of this song as a station ident on 120 Minutes. We all got more interesting for a stamp and a few pennies. We learned what collection agencies were and got beyond the radio. It was like Napster in the mail. We had not yet discovered drugs.
